I am married to my high school sweetheart and am mom to two beautiful little girls. I began my career in geriatrics at the young age of sixteen working as a dietary aide and then became an LNA. While working as a LNA for years, I enrolled in nursing school and graduated from St Joseph’s School of Nursing in April of 2015. In 2016, I completed my BSN through Southern New Hampshire University and am currently enrolled at Rivier University in the Family Nurse Practitioner program.
Throughout my nursing career, my passion has been in geriatrics, as it fills my soul with so much joy caring for this generation. In 2018, I worked at Monadnock Community Hospital in Case Management to further grow my skills in care coordination and within an acute care setting. While this position was rewarding, I began to miss the closer connection with patients and their families as well as the close collaboration with the care team for day-to-day care.
Over the years, I have worked closely with nursing staff to assist with developing consistency within organizations, completing care plans and resident assessment tools, conducting care plan meetings, providing staff education on dementia and end of life care, and assisting in day-to-day nursing care.
I believe strongly in the importance of teamwork and collaboration to make our work successful as well as benefiting residents with providing the most efficient care possible. This is vital, especially during these trying times, to come together as a team with ideas and thoughts on how to streamline processes to improve workflow, decrease stress loads, and overall improve resident care.
I look forward to learning and growing with a team of individuals who have the same goals of providing the best care possible while sharing our passion for our residents.
In nursing, we have the opportunity to touch a life each day or of having a life touch ours, and I am honored to experience this with the Summerhill Assisted Living family.
